Were very proud to announce our ‘Spotlight Artist of the Week’ from Belfast Northern Ireland, Eatenbybears.
Formed in October 2010, Eatenbybears have had a busy year of writing, rehearsing, recording and gigging constantly ending their summer with festival slots at Tenant’s Vital, playing support to Eminem and opening the Crawdaddy Stage at Electric Picnic, where they were lucky enough to share the bill with acts like Arcade Fire.
Following early releases of singles “Vanderhoof” and “Spite Houses” which were given the thumbs up by BBC Radio 1′s Rory McConnell, Eatenbybears recently celebrated their first Birthday with the release of their debut EP/Album “Teeth”, which AU Magazine gave an 8/10 review.
First Single from “Teeth” is “Malkovich”, a cheeky math-surf-pop vocal heavy number that shows that this is a band who aren’t afraid to re-define their sound on a song by song basis, honing it down to a fine art without ever becoming stale or predictable.
They describe themselves as experimental math-rock, and it’s very rare that you come across a sound so fresh.
Their 9 track EP/Album ‘Teeth’ is a force to be reckoned with, and an absolute joy to listen to. Littered with quirky 30sec soundscape’s to set up other tracks Eatenbybears is the love child when a threesome of sonic nastiness like Tool, Vampire Weekend, and The Mars Volta have had too much to drink and are feeling a little frisky.
These guys are going to be massive!
