THE HOLDING PATTERN – RISE OF THE INDEPENDENTS!

With all this fantastic new independent music being uploaded at the moment via MGM Distribution, individual artists and others, we are soon to topple over 25,000 tracks, and another 100,000 to follow… so I thought I’d say a few words about where THP is currently at.
We’ve been live only 8 months, and we are growing quickly, which is fantastic! We have secured deals with a number of Independent Distributors around the world including MGM Distribution, and the likes of Ditto Music from the UK with their wealth of Independent artists to follow.
Right now we are uploading the entire back catalogue of amazing Independent music from MGM Distribution with current artists in their stable to follow in coming weeks, and then we move to Ditto Music’s library.
I want to stress how important it is for ALL independent artists, signed or unsigned, and ALL Independent labels to join us, and start uploading their music. With all the eyes on site, and traffic that will be generated it’s a perfect time to get your music in front of a completely new set of fans…and it’s free!
MGM’s input of their independent catalogue will see an increase of traffic to the site, making it the one-stop platform for independents to host, share and sell their music whilst retaining full control of their copyrights.
You can also listen to, search and explore THP’s catalogue straight from your phone for free. Our focus, as always is on providing exposure and promoting the independent music community. We provide a better deal for
independent artists because we are small and independent.
So what does that mean to all you music fans? More amazing Independent music to search & explore!
This allows our innovative search engines to do the job they have been designed to do, provide a unique and interactive experience when searching and exploring THP.
Take ‘The Visualiser‘ for example, as the number of tracks grows to explore so does the number of results and genres that are filled to educate the user about how much amazing independent music is out there. This will provide exposure needed by the independent community to remain in the extremely important position of inspiring us on a daily basis!
Partnerships are a key factor for us as well, and with the exciting news of The AU Review becoming a partner we will have access to over 100 independent music writers to start their reviews and write ups about our own artists via our blog and their website. Providing even more exposure to artists and fans wanting to find new music to add to their libraries.
This is only the very beginning for us, and the hard work starts now. We aim to bring you the very best independent music on the planet, and to evolve as a platform with securing investment so we can truly become THE hub of independent creativity.
Thanks for your on going support, and stay tuned for some exciting news!

Nick Arnold

Eccentric, Eclectic, Electronic & Experimental…Is Kučka our new Bjork?

When you stumble across an artist that clearly is so artistically independent one feels a sense of discovery, like you’ve had a sneak peek at what Christmas might hold and it’s going to be something quite special, and really unique!

SHINING BIRD – SPOTLIGHT ARTIST OF THE WEEK!

Being described musically as creating a sort of widescreen “Valium Pop’ is a fantastic starting block to a canvas that knows no boundaries, and will surprise you with every stroke of genius their creative brush makes.

LAVERS – SPOTLIGHT ARTIST OF THE WEEK!

If Simon & Garfunkel had a love child with The Verve they would call this supreme specimen of sound ‘Lavers’….and this is why our Spotlight Artists Of The Week is a creating a lot of buzz around Australia.

AN AGILE MUSIC PLATFORM..??

This is nothing less than an entire new music over haul that will enable the next generation of music products to be radically different from their predecessors and that will crucially be artist-specific, not store or service specific. Rights owners will have to overcome some major licensing and commercial issues, but the stakes are high enough to warrant the effort.

THP MUSIC – Served With A Smile… :)

It’s almost like we’ve lost the art of customer service, with helping someone find want they want instead of giving them all that you have…like a speed queue at a buffet restaurant or an all you can eat bar!
